Club News Important Message from Healthy Club

As part of our Healthy Club Project, the Annacurra GAA club have decided to make our grounds including the dressing rooms, pitch and surrounding areas a no smoking area. The aim of this project is to promote healthy living among our players and supporters, and removing smoking from our facilities reinforces that. Signs will be erected this week, so we would ask all supporters and team mentors to please refrain from smoking during matches and training sessions. Under 14 football training has stated back and Derry Gaels are playing a blitz this Saturday in Fenagh in preparation for the forthcoming Féile na Gael. Under 6, 8 & 10 training will start back on Wednesday 25th March from 6.15 to 7.15pm.

Club News

The club are back training in the last few weeks. Numbers are good and as always any member who wants to train, text Kevin Stapleton 0861797875 to be added to the text list. New members are also welcome.

The club are holding a mouse race night in the Saltee on the 28th of March. Live mice will be used and we would like to note that no mice will be harmed or injured in the event. Players and committee members will have race cards over the coming weeks and mice cost €5. Keep an eye out for more details.

Last man standing competition is starting this weekend. Full details are on our Facebook page and results will be updated weekly. Contact Nevan O’Sullivan or Kevin Stapleton for details.

Finally, there is lots of talk about our Facebook page lately. Great additions of player profiles going onto the page every few days and maybe a few Annacurra “legends” will also be contributing. Follow the link to see what’s in there so far. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152612119930756.1073741828.210853230755&type=1

*The term legend is loosely describing players that retired a few years ago and not the man in the image. (Image used to portray the best dressed title he keeps appearing in)Nitch
