Weekly Notes 5/2/12

The juvenile club had its AGM recently where there was a decision to change the joint name of Annacurra/Aughrim back to the old reliable, Derry Gaels. The officers elected on the night were as follows: Chairman – Brian Barnes, Vice Chairman – Sean O’Shea, Secretary – Deborah Doyle and Treasurer – Dorothy Shannon.Good Luck to all the juveniles in the club for the coming year and hopefully the return to the old name will bring a new found look.

The date for the Dinner Dance has been set for Friday 24th Februaury at 8pm in Murphy’s Pub, Tinahely. Music on the night is by Theresa & The Stars. The tickets cost €25 and there is a limited number of tickets so get your tickets fast before they’re sold out. Tickets can be bought from Declan Finn (0862037343), Declan Byrne (0877839872) or Martin Fitzgerald (0868327666). Promises to be a good night for all.

Finally, comiserations to the Byrne and Howard families on the recent death on Vera.

Weekly Notes 31/1/11

Annacurra/Aughrim juvenile club had their agm during the week. Elected
officers are as follows; Chairman: Brian Barnes, Vice Chairman: Sean
O’Shea, Secretary: May O’Brien, Treasurer: Dorothy Shannon and PRO:
Bridget Fitzgerald. Congratulations to the Co. Wicklow Vocational Schools
team on reaching the Leinster final this weekend, they move on to the
final next week. We were represented by Martin O’Brien on the team. Also
congratulations to Stephen Murphy on making the minor county football
panel for the year coming. Our deepest sympathies are with the Ryan family
of Redenagh on the recent passing of Frank.
