Hard luck to the Colaiste Bhride Carnew senior schools football team who played in the Leinster Vocationals schools final in Portlaoise on Friday evening. They faced strong opposition in Ferban. The team was captained by Stephen Murphy and also playing was Bob Fitzgerald and Jack O’Sullivan. Also on Friday night the senior team got their first win in the league in a hard fought game against Newtown in Annacurra. A tough match against formidable oponents but our lads came out on top. Good scores from Frank Clune, Ian McDonald and Jack O’Sullivan lead to a one point victory, 1-9 to 1-8. There was no jackpot winner in the lotto last week. The numbers were 7,17,20,21. There was only one match 3 winner, Mary Byrne Gaelic Kilpipe. Jackpot is raised to €2350 for next weeks draw. It has come to the clubs notice that there is unauthorised use of the gym facility above the dressing room. The gym cannot be used unless you have payed your membership and measures will be taken to stop unauthorised use from now. Membership can be payed to John O’Neill or James Fitzgerald, €50 for playing members and €20 for students, unemployed and non playing members.
